Mission Accomplished!

My heart is filled with joy and gratitude as I report to you the evangelistic trip that I had this summer.  As you know every summer I travel to various countries where Ethiopians are densely populated to reach out to the dispersed Ethiopians with the eternal Word of God.  This summer I spent two weeks, (from August 14 to August 30) in Lebanon and United Arab Emirates.

Since many of you prayed for a great harvest and my safety,  I want you to know that your prayers have been fully answered.  It was a successful trip worth all the effort. Every thing went smoothly as scheduled with no major difficulties. The extreme hot weather of the region and the jet lag did not minimize or curtailed my effort to minister to God's people. In His divine provision, God bestowed upon me incredible strength to preach and to offer several hours of counseling to many of those who needed help.  It was quite a privilege for me to weep with those who were weeping and rejoice with those who were rejoicing in the new life they received in Jesus Christ.
As many of you are aware, life for most Ethiopians specially for those who live in this part of the world is relatively harsh and very difficult.   I am personally humbled to see how God is using us to comfort, renew and touch many lives with timely messages from the Word of God. During this evangelistic trip fourteen new people came to know Christ as their personal Savior,  sixty believers received water baptism, and hundreds received encouragement through the preaching of His Word.  We praise the Lord for those new converts and for those who found encouragement in the eternal Word of God.  Thank you partners, for supporting us faithfully with your prayers and finances.  Your partnership is the key to our success.
Whenever God calls individuals for Kingdom's task, He always provides people to support them.   In twenty-one years of this ministry, I have seen how God brought in our lives a number of key individuals in various countries around the world who have

special love and concern for the dispersed people of Ethiopia taking missions very seriously.  These people are one of the major factors for our success in reaching out to many dispersed Ethiopians.  In this report I would like you to meet Rev. Mishal Habas who is the pastor of Baptist Evangelical Church of Badaro Church in Beirut. Rev. Mishal and members of the Badaro church have opened not only their church facility for Ethiopians to use but their hearts as well.  Thanks to Rev. Habas and members of  his church, four to five hundred Ethiopians have a place of worship in Beirut.  Another person who is a friend of Ethiopians in Beirut is Rev. Megdi Milky who in many occasions took these unfortunate people under his wings.  He played a very significant role as an advisor to the pastor and church leaders.  Thank you Rev. Megdi, Rev. Mishal and members of Baptist Evangelical Church of Badaro for being instrumental in helping many Ethiopians to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  May the Lord bless you richly.

God's Provision...
Always Unfailing
We shared with you in the last issue of News & Views how this ministry started in a tiny basement room and continued to operate in rented offices.  Through the years God has been faithfully providing with just the right amount of office space for our work at a reasonable cost.
After almost 13 years at our 29 S. Duke St. location, the Lord once again provided a bigger place.  This time the property was to be purchased and not rented.  And so, on August 2nd, with the help of a group of volunteers from Living Word Community Church and the Ethiopian community, the office of EOM moved to the new location on 211 South George Street in York.  We than God for all of you who made the move easier.  You have blessed us with your hard work and joyful attitude through the whole day and the many days after.  God bless you!
In His marvelous provision, God once again surprised us through an obedient servant of His who deeply cares for the Kingdom work.  This friend who wishes not to be identified by name gave $37,000 which enables us to pay off the balance we owe.  Praise the Lord!
We want to thank our friend who made such a large investment in the Lord's work, Living Word Community Church for its investment in the work among Ethiopians since the beginning, three Ethiopian Evangelical Churches of Houston, TX, Boston and Ontario, Canada and to the eighty-two friends and partners who sent special gifts to help purchase this office building.
The facility the Lord gave us will enable us to function in more effective ways producing resources for teaching, training and evangelizing.  Once remodeling of our audio production room is complete, it will enable us to produce better quality tapes and radio programs.
Since the major cost is history, our next step is to work on remodeling: fixing and mending dents in walls, painting inside and outside of the building, refurbishing rooms and replacing worn carpet.  Your continued designated gifts toward the building fund will be used to upgrade the property to the best possible appearance.  It will be beautiful!  We encourage you to prayerfully consider what the Lord would want you to do.  Thank you again for making a difference for the glory of God.
Special Thanks

We extend our special thanks to Eli Murry, Seth Davidson, Andy Durr, Tony Montag, Brian Noll, Ray and Pat Metzger(for your hard work and letting us use your truck), Dick Naylor, Bill and Susie Luddy, Devin Bunner, Todd Payn, Mike and Julie Parthree, Yirgalem Wossene, Moges Arega, Bekele Gebre, Brook Hailemariam, Getachew Yeshaneh, Misgana Berhanu, Katie Heatly and Melkamu. We thank Steve Parthree for loaning us his truck for the day.  We also express our gratitude to the brothers who came with their pickup trucks to tansport more sensitive equipment. May God bless you all and may you continue experiencing the joy of serving the Lord.

Praise and Request
Praises:

For God’s continued guidance and provision.

For the thousands of lives touched by the Holy Spirit through the teachings of the word of God by brother Melese.

For the current office building EOM acquired and for the funds that came in to pay the entire purchase price, for all the help we received in the process of moving.

Please Pray...

For the gospel of Jesus Christ to be proclaimed among Ethiopians who have never heard about Jesus Christ.

For millions of Ethiopians who need to have a personal relationship with Christ— not just religion.

For believers who are displaced and scattered from the country of Djibouti due to new government policies that they may get help to resettle and for their faith to be solid in this testing time.

For the Ethiopian churches  in Ethiopia and around the world to preach the pure word of God fighting the false teachings that are on the rise.  Pray for wise and bold teachers with true calling to arise upholding the TRUTH OF THE SCRIPTURE.

For the various needs of this ministry. Especially pray that God sends a godly man or woman who can be part of the team here at EOM to serve in the audio production or printing/publishing services.  Since this person has to raise his or her own support, we believe God will provide the support when He calls for the task.

We extend our deepest condolences to our dear friends and partners in the Lord’s work here at EOM, Miss Lois Anderson and Miss Janice Anderson in the loss of their brother Mr. W. Dale Anderson.  Mr. Anderson went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2003 at the age of 90.

LETTERS

Dear servants of the Lord,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The teachings you send me on tapes so far have impacted my life beyond the expression of words. It has brought me to a level where I can understand the word of God better and clearer.  Now I see the absolute truth in the scriptures.  Not only me but my husband who is not a believer is attracted to your teachings of God’s word.
I take the tapes to where I work and let some of my colleagues listen to the lessons.  It is amazing to see how the Holy Spirit is working in the lives of many of them. Some of them who had problem in their marriages now resolved their problems through the teachings of God’s word we received on tapes.
What can I say? God is using you to knock many homes, marriages, relationships and hearts.  Keep up the good work and continue to teach the truth of the word of God boldly.

Dear brother Melese,
A couple of weeks ago, I listened to one of your teachings on tape while visiting a friend.  It was one of the series teachings on prayer tilted, “Let us know what we are praying”.
It was an eye opener for me and answer to many of my questions about my prayer life.  Thank you so much for teaching the word of God in such a clear and understandable way always tying the scriptures to our daily living.  I stayed longer than I planned to at my friends place to finish the message.  I have the address of your office in Addis where I can get the rest of the series messages. I look forward to feasting on such valuable teaching.
Since I listened to your teaching, my prayer life turned around 180 degrees. Now I pray with meaning and understanding. Talking to my Father is sweeter. Thank you and God bless you and your ministry.
