| Brother Melese’s recent
trips to Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Kenya and Djibouti delivering the
message of Jesus Christ among hundreds of dispersed Ethiopians living in
these countries is a fresh testimony to Christ’s final command that states,
“go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I
have commanded you.” (Matt. 28:19,20)
In the four weeks trip brother Melese took
this past summer, he taught and preached the word of God to hundreds of
Ethiopians. The church in Djibouti, which was formally started by brother
Melese fifteen years ago with a handful of new believers, now has over
400 regular active members. In their briefing of the current standing of
the church, the current leaders told bother Melese that their records show
over ten thousand men and women have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal
Savior and Lord
|
in the fifteen years of the church’s ministry.
Over fifty pastors and evangelists who are now ministering to Ethiopians
in the US, Canada, Europe and various parts of Ethiopia came out of the
Djibouti church.
Through the outreach program of the Ethiopian church in Djibouti, two churches are planted, one in Ethiopia and another one in Somalia. All this is possible by the mighty power of God and His obedient children who are willing to take the message of salvation in Jesus Christ to all the nations. It is also the fruit of all the laborers who supported the church in Djibouti with their prayers and finances all these years. Living Word community Church of York, Pennsylvania is the first that needs to be recognized for its support of the church since its beginning. The Djibouti church adopted the name of its sister church in York and named itself Ethiopian Living Word Believers’ Church in Djibouti and has been know that way since its inception. |

| The ministry in Kenya has also its own story
to tell. The timing of brother Melese’s trip to Kenya, as EOM’s representative
brother Manaye wrote us, was so crucial because many were so stressed in
life and hungry for sound Biblical instructions. For the first time, meetings
were conducted starting in the middle of the week. Normally, it is known
that very few people can come to “teaching seminars” at midweek programs.
This time, it was different. It wasn’t even announced widely that brother
Melese was coming to town. It was announced only once at a Sunday church
service. On the first day of the meeting with brother Melese, the place
was jammed.
According to brother Manaye, 450 to 500 people attended the morning and afternoon sessions from Tuesday, July 30 through Friday, August 2nd. And on the following two days, Saturday and Sunday, close to six hundred attended the special outreach programs in which hundreds |
rededicated their life and many others made
their extraordinary decisions to follow Christ. We are sharing this
with you so that you have a better understanding of the spiritual hunger
of our brothers and sisters at the other side of the globe.Similar services
were given to Ethiopian believers and non-believers in Beirut and United
Arab Emirates. Thirty-five new believers were baptized in Beirut and numerous
others rededicated their life to the Lord. What a marvelous scene to see
God’s grace at work.
Your prayers and financial gifts to this ministry
are making huge impacts in the kingdom work. You may not have been travelling
to all these places delivering the message of salvation in Jesus Christ.
But you are being used by God for His message to be delivered. Keep up
the good work friends. Thank you for partnering with us to share
the love of God, His message of blessed hope for eternity.

| Dear friends in Christ,
Thank you for the Ethiopian dinner invitation. We enjoy the food so
much. Because of the joy of being laborers together with God and
you, we are sending a contribution & our blessings on your ministry
to scattered Ethiopians.
Harold & Kathryn
Dear servants of the Lord, Thank you so much for providing us with a daily spiritual food through your radio programs. The taped message you sent me last month was so timely. It helped me to have the right perspective for the situation I was going through. Thank you |
for being like a father to me. Your counsel
through your teachings is a precious gift from God. May the Lord
use you more for His glory among Ethiopians.
Your sister,
Dear friends, We are thankful for a number of blessings we received this year. Your taped messages have helped us maintain a balanced Christian life, and also helped us clear lots of confusions, misconceptions, misinterpretations of the Bible we hear at different occasions. Even though we reserve judgment to God, we have constantly tried to explain what it means to follow Christ as we |
understand it. Your messages have reinforced
our belief and given us confidence that we are on the right track.
Solomon Bililign and Family,
Dear brother Melese, I am writing to let you know how much my friends and I appreciate your
daily radio broadcast here in Asmara. With all evangelical churches closed
by the government, it is your program that provides us with sound Biblical
instructions. Please pray for Christians in Eritrea who are facing
persecution everyday. Thank you for ministering to us consistently.
